David Gonzalez was sentenced to a term of 75 years to life after being convicted of first degree murder. He is before us for a fourth time on appeal, after we remanded the matter to the trial court three times for resentencing.1 In this appeal, Gonzalez contends the trial court abused its discretion when it declined to dismiss a 25-year-to-life firearm enhancement, finding that a reduction of his sentence would “endanger public safety”
