P. v. Navarro
Defendant Alex Navarro pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping and agreed to register as a sexual offender under Penal Code section 290. Defendant sought to withdraw his plea prior to sentencing on the ground that he was not advised that his registration as a sexual offender would be for his lifetime rather than for the period of his probation. The trial court denied his motion to withdraw his plea and his request for a certificate of probable cause. We granted defendants writ of mandate and ordered that his certificate of probable cause be granted.
