P. v. Johnson
Defendant and appellant Ronnie Edward Johnson, Jr., was convicted by jury of the first degree murder of Charles Trice, in violation of Penal Code section 187, subdivision (a),[1]with special circumstance findings that the murder was committed during the commission of burglary and robbery within the meaning of section 190.2, subdivision (a)(17). Defendant was found not guilty of grand theft of an automobile under section 487, subdivision (d)(1), but guilty of first degree robbery and burglary in violation of sections 211 and 459. Defendant was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder, with a consecutive four-year term for the robbery conviction. Sentence on the burglary conviction was stayed pursuant to section 654. The judgment is affirmed.
