IN THE COURT OF APPEAL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

SECOND APPELLATE DISTRICT

DIVISION FIVE

THE PEOPLE,

Plaintiff and Respondent,

v.

REGINALD NELSON CRAIG,

Defendant and Appellant.

B198787

(Los Angeles County

Super. Ct. No. NA020055)

APPEAL from an order of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, Gary J. Ferrari, Judge. Affirmed.

Barbara A. Smith, under appointment by the Court of Appeal, for Defendant and Appellant.

No appearance for Plaintiff and Respondent.

______________________________

On January 11, 1995, appellant Reginald Nelson Craig was sentenced to concurrent terms of 25 years to life in state prison. The sentence was imposed pursuant to a plea bargain, in which additional counts and allegations were dismissed.

On March 19, 2007, Craig filed a petition for writ of error coram nobis, alleging that he did not understand the proceedings at the time of his plea, due to a mental defect. He also alleged he received ineffective assistance of counsel in connection with the plea bargain. The petition was denied by the trial court by minute order dated March 19, 2007. Craig filed a notice of appeal from the order denying his petition for writ of error coram nobis.

We appointed counsel to represent Craig on appeal. On October 4, 2007, appointed counsel filed a brief pursuant to People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436, raising no issues on appeal. We notified Craig that he had until November 10, 2007, to file a supplemental brief on his own behalf. No brief has been filed.

Our independent review of the record reveals no arguable issues on appeal. (Smith v. Robbins (2000) 528 U.S. 259, 278-284.) The judgment is affirmed.
