On June 7, 2005, a juvenile petition (Welf. & Inst. Code, § 602) was filed against appellant alleging that she committed felony second degree robbery (Pen. Code, §§ 211, 212.5, subd. (c)). On July 6, 2005, appellant entered a plea of no contest to the allegation and the juvenile court sustained the petition. Pursuant to the July 6 plea agreement, the juvenile court placed appellant on two years' probation. In addition, the court found that continuance in the home was contrary to appellant's welfare and ordered her detained in juvenile hall until placed by the probation officer. Appellant's counsel has requested that this court independently review the record on appeal to determine if an arguable issue exists. (Anders v. California (1967) 386 U.S. 738; People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436.)


Background[1]


The victim stated to police that she had been waiting with her husband for the bus on Broadway and 16th Street when she was approached by a short African American female. Without saying anything, the suspect grabbed the victim by her hair and began hitting her on top of her head and about her face with closed fists. The victim attempted to block the punches and dropped her purse to the ground. The suspect grabbed the purse and ran westbound on Broadway. The victim had no visible injuries and rejected the need for medical attention at the scene. A second witness stated she saw her friend, appellant, walk up to the victim and begin hitting her until she dropped her purse. Appellant was contacted at her residence and taken to an â€
