In these consolidated appeals by defendants Terrance Varner and Jajuan Phillip Stroman, each claims errors assertedly affecting their joint jury trial convictions for the second degree murder of Clarence Ogden (Pen. Code, § § 187, 189), with gun use and arming allegations, including that each discharged a firearm proximately causing the death (id., § 12022.53, subd.
