P. v. Mejia
A jury convicted Johnny and Kevin Mejia each of one count of attempted murder. On appeal, Johnny contends: (1) there was insufficient evidence for the jury to conclude he aided and abetted the attempted murder; (2) the trial court erred in failing to sever the attempted murder charge from a first degree murder charge alleged against only a co-defendant, Edwin Cruz; and (3) the court erred in denying Johnnys motion for a new trial. Kevin contends the trial court violated his constitutional rights by failing to allow him to reopen the defense case to testify; he also joins the appellate arguments of his co-defendants. Court affirm the judgments.
